I wish I could say that most of my time is spent shooting with a little bit of editing “sprinkled” in, however the graph below shows what most people perceive how my time is spent and the graph below this one shows…

the awful truth….

My family could hardly contain the excitement when last week we all learned the wonderful news that my sister Katie (KK) got engaged! She is now engaged to a wonderful man named Gabriel who is a classically trained musician originally from Spain. We are all so thrilled to have Gabe join our family!
Let the wedding planning begin!
Well hello there! Thank you for stopping by to check out some of my latest news & work. I have been incredibly busy since the beginning of October and am very excited to be rolling out the new wedding website with the new portrait site on it’s heals. 2009 was a fantastic year for Strut Photography, and I am so excited for 2010.
Here are just a few of the AMAZING families I was able to spend some time with before the holidays. Enjoy!

And last but not least….here are my girls. This is the photo from our holiday card!

Exciting news! I’ve been published in The Knot’s Spring/Summer 2010 issue! See Becca & Dean’s Harvard wedding below.

Karie and Michael were married on October 3rd in Worcester followed by an amazing reception at Harrington Farm in Princeton, MA. Although the day did not bring sunshine and blue skies, that did not slow down Karie and Michael one bit. I truly love working with couples like this for so many reasons. Karie is soft spoken, kind and gentle and Michael is sweet, fun and exciting….they are perfect for each other (and they look REALLY good together). Karie and Michael were very smart and built in time to their wedding day schedule for photos. Becuase they did that, it took so much stress and pressure out of the day and also allowed for some really great wedding photos. I kept an eye on the forecast that week and we came up with an idea to go to Union Station for photos so that we could stay dry but also have a great backdrop. One of the BEST, BEST, BEST parts of the wedding was Ronnie. Ronnie is actually a great uncle to Karie and he provided the transpiration in his beautiful, black, classy old Plymouth car (sorry I don’t know the exact model). He does offer this as a service, so if you are looking for something special on your wedding day, I would contact Ronnie (508-865-9787). You will see he played a part in many of our photos….thanks Ronnie!
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day. If you would like to see their slideshow, just click here.

Here is Ronnie’s wicked cool car.

This photo is so touching to me. Michael had tears in his eyes as he watched Karie walk down the aisle.

Here they are looking at their rings after they were exchanged……so sweet.

Here is Ronnie playing the part of the “nosy” driver. He was such a ham!

Here he is again playing the part of the “impatient driver”…love it!

Michael and Karie sharing their first dance.

Karie is not only the youngest in her family, but she is also the only daughter. Her father & Karie shared a really special Father Daughter dance.

And finally a view of Michael and Karie on the porch at the end of the night.

A special thanks to my good friend Shannon & Suzanne for all their help and support in shooting the wedding (neither of them have websites…..but they really should so I could link here!).
I met with Heather and Jake a while ago in September (yes I am that busy that it has taken me this long to post these photos!) at one of my favorite locations right in Shrewsbury. The light was so beautiful and they are such a fun loving, good looking couple that it was a joy to shoot this engagement session. The interesting piece I learned about Heather and Jake was that their mom’s actually set them up! Talk about perfect!

I truly love meeting new families and watching their loving exchanges with their kids. Baby Grace here was no exception. Both her parents just loved, loved, loved their new little baby. I’m not sure how many hugs, kisses and cuddles were bestowed on her during the session, but as you can see in the photos, all the hugs, kisses and cuddles made her really happy. Here are some of my favorites….

Here is a photo we took in my studio. I think the family looks great and Mary Ann is looking sassy!

So my good friend Jim told me that my last few journal posts (in terms of the wording) are starting to become a little stale…and I kind of agree. Here’s a little punch for you!
When I was growing up (I’m sure my sisters would agree) there was never a doubt in my mind that my parents were in love. No matter what my mother did, my father would always look at her with hearts in his eyes. One day she was so fed up with his laundry, that she hung all of his clothes outside in the front yard. When he came home, he laughed, gave her a kiss and retrieved all his laundry from the front yard. Today, after 40 years of marriage they are exactly the same…..completely in love….and she still can do no wrong (in my father’s eyes..wink, wink).
As I go through each year of business, I meet many couples that are very in love, however Rebecca and Weber really stand out. Weber REALLY loves Rebecca…..he loves her like my father loves my mother. For this reason I was very excited and happy to be part of their wedding. Everything was perfect. Everything. They were married under a beautiful tree in the Boston Public Garden that they had specifically choose so that they can return to the the special spot anytime. Dinner was in the Zebra Room at Upstairs on the Square in Cambridge.
Here are a couple of my favorite shots.
Nice ice.

Here is the beautiful bride.

Here is the handsome groom.

Here are some of the beautiful details from the wedding day. Can you guess the color theme?

Thanks so much to my good friend Erin Curran for all her help!
Adam and Alyssa choose the North End for their engagement session….and it was awesome. Although it was a bustling day with tons of people, we were able to find some really fun places for their photos. Probably my favorite is the motorcycle mirror photo because they are actually standing in front of the restaurant where they had their first date. Here are some of my favorites…..
